I'm heading down to Beijing for a few days. Need some ideas regarding the trip how to make the most of it during 4 days. So far arranging a trip to the Great Wall, visiting Forbidden City the next day, reserving a room at Da Dong Roast Duck for a lovely dinner, and thinking about checking out Din Tai Fung for some traditional Chinese dumplings. Any more suggestions?
Thanks heaps to those who respond...
Check out GuLou and NanluoGuxiang (famous hutong in gulou) ,
JinShan park (behing Forbidden City), art district 798,
if you are into antiques - there's PanJia antique market,
Olympic Stadium - the Nest, and Water Cube.
for a good night out - bar district Sanlitun, also good for food and shopping.
=) have fun in Beijing!
Thanks for the tips. Sounds like you know the place very well!
When you go to the Forbidden City, I recommend you to also visit the park behind it, it's beautiful with a small hill where you can see the Forbidden City from above.
I visited the Olympic park area this summer, it's very nice to see the bird's nest and the other buildings. There is also a gigantic forest park north of the buildings, it's a welcome contrast to the heavy traffic and big city experience. I recommend it! However, the area is really big so be prepared for a long walk!
Thanks Moa.. Will visit the parks!
